Generation of Purity

Last night, I attended a talk by an American woman who's passionate about raising up kids who will keep themselves pure and virtuous.

Are these old-fashioned words?
Do our young people know what they mean??
Is it what parents want their kids to be even if they themselves
were not???

Of course, I agree that parents should be the best ones to tell kids about the birds and the bees....that kids should not be exposed to pornography....that there must be consistency in parenting eg. if you don't want to see your 14 year old daughter wearing a bikini, then you shouldn't let her wear one when she's 4, even if it's an itsy-bitsy cutie little thing!

I thought I was ancient and archaic, until I found myself pondering over the speaker's position that the first kiss between a guy and a gal should be kept for the wedding day.....

Yes, that would be nice from a parent's perspective for purity and protection from a hot-blooded person.
But, is that ideal from a young person's point of view?
