I'm just making an observation.....we just had one of our "Family Conferences", and the head of the family set out a new household rule re-late nights out:
You must inform your parents of your where-abouts, 'who-abouts' and 'how-abouts' your getting home.

However...

If you are male and above 24, find your own way home --- no matter what!
If you are male and under 24, call and see if anyone is willing to pick you up from the train station.
If you are female above or under 24, call and dad will come pick you up from anywhere!

Ahhh....talk of all being equal and parents love all children the same and they have no favorites....
But, is it a question of favoritism???

I think not.

I do agree that men tend to be more protective towards the womenfolk BUT..... when the daughter (or son for that matter!) is so like the wife whom he loves, then somehow he makes special effort, special provision, and gives this child special favor!

And likewise, mothers tend to put the son or daughter who is just like the husband whom she loves, in the same favored category.
