Community spirit

Last evening I was taking a stroll at the East Coast Park. I'm not making a racist statement......but I noticed a distinct absence of the Chinese people there!

Of course there were the odd groups of Chinese at the BBQ pits, the few couples walking the dog, jogging or roller-blading.

But the Malays and the Indians were camping, playing ball games, laughing together ---- there was such a healthy community spirit! They know how to relax, play, live ---- take time, make time for their inter-generational family and friends.

Where were the Chinese folks?

In their homes watching TV?... in the tuition centers??...in the shopping malls???...at the gymn????......basically, doing their own thing. Sigh!

Hi Deline,
I can see you reviving your group activities and raising up a new generation who would be people-centered rather than program-centered!Yay!!!

Chinese pay too much time and attention to their kids, wish they could be better in the future life
